The world’s richest man was due to become a board member last Saturday, but CEO Parag Agrawal said Monday morning that Musk had rejected the offer.
Agrawal announced via his Twitter account that Elon Musk will not be a member of the board of directors: “I think this is the best. We have and will always appreciate input from our shareholders whether or not they are members of our Board of Directors. Elon is our largest contributor and we will remain open to his contribution.”
After the news broke, Musk tweeted one emoji for Bassem’s face. Then delete the tweet afterwards.
Musk had recently proposed changes to Twitter Blue’s premium subscription service, including lowering its price, blocking ads, and giving the option to pay with the cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, and he suggested a series of other changes, some serious and some not, such as the introduction of an edit button and a relocation of headquarters.
