Xiaomi officially announces its Mix Fold 2 foldable phone with Leica cameras
Today, Xiaomi announced its second foldable phone, the Mix Fold 2, just one day after Samsung announced its foldable phones, Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is one of the thinnest foldable phones, as its thickness is 5.4 mm when the phone is opened and 11.2 mm when it is closed. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 6.3 mm thick when open and 15.8 mm when the phone is closed and the weight of the Xiaomi phone is 262 grams.
The Mix Fold 2 comes with a 6.56-inch OLED external screen with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ support, and a Gorilla Glass Victus layer protected with a hole for the 20-megapixel front camera.
When you unlock the phone, you will get a 8.02-inch LTPO 2.0-inch OLED screen to support navigating the refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, which helps improve battery life.
The phone comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 12 GB RAM, 256 and 512 GB internal storage, and there is a version with 1 TB storage space and a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging technology.
Xiaomi cooperated in this phone with Leica, and it is the second phone from Xiaomi to benefit from this cooperation after the Xiaomi 12S Ultra phone. The phone comes with three cameras on the main back with a resolution of 50 mega pixel camera with f/1.8 lens slot, Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS, and the second wide-angle 13 mega pixel camera Pixel and f/2.4 lens and the third for 2x optical zoom with 8 mega pixel resolution and f/2.6 lens slot.
The phone comes with a fingerprint reader on the side and runs Android 12L with MIUI 13 interface and is currently available for pre-order in China and will be available for sale there on August 16 at a starting price of $ 1,340 and there is no information about its availability outside China.
